A graduate of the University of Chicago with a degree in Behavioral Sciences, Tom constructed his career without forgetting that it's people, not just technology, that make business both effective and exciting. It's that attitude that built his success within the structure of such corporations as PricewaterhouseCoopers and IBM, and with which he founded his own company, Cox Business Consulting, Inc.

Tom has consulted on four continents over 12 years, and has consistently won outstanding results for his clients. He has brought his insights to bear on such diverse sectors as health care, insurance, public safety, utilities, manufacturing, and retail and wholesale distribution.

From speaking engagements and radio talk shows to appearances on news programs, Tom enjoys the challenge of applying his expertise. A published author, Tom wrote The Oracle Workgroup Server Handbook which was later translated into several languages, including Chinese. He's contributed articles and editorials to various publications and has held several political offices, including Judicial Committee and County Chair. The only candidate to submit a state budget proposal when running for Governor of Oregon in 2002, Tom ran a race that got nation-wide notice, resulting in the highest third party vote for such a race. Tom credits his use of strategic planning for the unusually strong result.

Tom enjoys sailing, working with the public, and management consulting. He and his wife, Heather, are big fans of The Daily Show with Jon Stewart. An active father to his girls, Zoe and Sophia, he considers it his job to make the world they inherit a better place by improving his corner of it.
